Penrith Community Gardeners
Following the theft of the Penrith Community Gardeners donation box from our plant ‘give and take’ cart at the Railway Station, many people have expressed a wish to financially compensate for the missing funds.

Our Gardening Group care for areas around the town including the railway station planters, they have developed the Stricklandgate fruit garden where young people can see fruit being grown and anyone can take what is being grown there. Many of the daffodils seen at the entrances to the town were bought by donations and planted by the group.
The money that has been stolen was going to be used this Autumn to buy and continue to plant more wild daffodils (not cheap to buy) on the slope to the Castle opposite the station.

With each donation we can buy more bulbs. You are invited to include the name of someone you wish to remember. Names will be added to a board and placed in front of the flowers when they bloom. It’s quite emotional to see the name in writing in front of the flowers.
